Nestled in the lush and iconic Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix, this modern renovation and addition reimagines a dated structure into a light-filled home tailored for both family life and effortless entertaining. The client initially envisioned a traditional farmhouse aesthetic, but in response to Arcadia’s architectural neighborhood  character and desert context, a more fitting design emerged—one that blends the warmth of a modern farmhouse with the clean lines and horizontality of Arizona’s mid-century modern ranch homes.

The result is a thoughtfully composed residence that feels timeless yet distinctly contemporary. A large, open-plan living space serves as the heart of the home, flowing seamlessly to an elegant canopied patio and pool beyond. Here, weekends and gatherings naturally extend outdoors, blurring the line between inside and out, and making full use of the site’s generous footprint and stunning mountain light.

Rooted in place yet forward-thinking in form, this home honors Arcadia’s unique sense of neighborhood while offering a refined take on modern desert living.
